- צַוָּאָהf. (צָוָה) command, order, verbal will. B. Bath. 147a בצ׳ בעלמא by mere expression of his will (without symbolical possession); a. e.Pl. צַוָּאוֹת. Ber.15b וכתבתם …אפי׳ צ׳ ‘and thou shalt write them (Deut. 6:9, 11:20) the entire section must be written out (in the Tfillin), including the orders (‘thou shalt write, ‘ye shall bind ). Ib. (ref. to the roll written for the Sotah, Num. 5:23) אלות … צ׳ אינו כותב the priest writes the curses but not the instructions; Sot.17a צ׳ וקבלות (not צוואת) the instructions and the affirmations (by the woman saying Amen).
